NEAS Quarterly Journals
The Nelson Eddy Appreciation Society produces quarterly journals that contain articles, photographs, and many more gems related to the career of Nelson Eddy. What you see here are a few examples of what you would receive should you become a member. These clippings are from from the Summer 2004 issue which has a Naughty Marietta theme and is concentrated with Nelson Eddy on all twenty-nine pages.
The "Meet the Members" page introduces members to new and familiar faces alike who have joined for the first time. Being that Nelson makes us all young at heart, stories of how new members became Nelson Eddy admirers are included here. Here is a sample entry from one of our youngest members: Jael Barstow (WA): I am 21 years old. Make Mine Music started me off on a most enchanting voyage of musical discovery when I saw it last May and had to find out more about the voice behind the whale. I saw The Chocolate Soldier early last June and was completely hooked by its wit, charm, sparkling humor, dear Miss Stevens, and the blond baritone who has quite literally filled my life with his music. A great personality."Men of his kind don't grow on trees."
Here is just a glance "Between Scenes" at one of the Marietta pages. At the end of each issue of "The Golden Star" member comments about the journals and other events prior to the published journal are gathered together so members can interact with each other. Every issue will tip the hat to the work of Perry and Lucy Pickering, Anna Michalik, and everyone else who has ever been involved in making "The Shooting Star" a success with all their work. New changes may come and go, but the foundation and the goal of the journals will essentially remain the same.
